Toshiba E-Studio 450 very slow copy speed

Does anybody know what would cause the 450 to copy very slow?

If the customer puts like lets say 20 pages in the doc feeder, the machine will scan about 6 pages from the df, then it will print a few pages, scan a few more pages, then print a few more pages. Its like it doesn't have enough memory to store originals and to process the outputs.

I have tried updating the firmware, I am thinking either replacing the HDD or swapping out the memory modules.

    Thanks!

It sounds more like an issue with either the fuser temp dropping and the MFP waiting for it to catch up, or trying to add toner. What's the count on your developer/drum? Memory and HDD issues should show themselves by checking 08/253 for "F" codes..but firmware updates usually don't hurt. If you don't have any error codes, replace the drum/developer and if possible, swap the fuser section and see if the problem migrates to another MFP. You may want to test the erase lamps to ensure the drum is discharging properly as this has bitten me in the past. Emujo
If you don't see your question answered in the forum, please don't think it's OK to PM me for a personal reply...I do not give out firmware and/or manuals.

I have had probs like this to. Some one had changed the fuser running temp. Default should be 08-410 set to 12 and 08 - 411 set to 12. If thermistors are dirty it will cause the same sort of probs.
It didn't say that I couldn't do it in the manual.

To make sure it is not the scan side, try scanning some documents via e-filing to check. If it scans fine your looking at the machine. To check just the print (machine) side, print out the stored e-filing documents to see if the fault occurs. Hope that helps
