As far as I know, a 80GB works fine. I don't think there is anything to gain from using the larger HDD though.I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work. ~Thomas Edison -

There is No Storage improvement possible. The only reason why you would want to put an 80 GB HDD in is because you cannot find a 40 GB HDD anymore.Comment

estudio 282 series as far i know its supporting upto 40GB only, 80GB will work alright it will detect from the mainboard but it will act as a 40GB Hdd. therefore u will not gain extra space as maximum partition that it can support only upto 40GB. Its physically designed that way various firmwares will not gain u space either.Comment
