Grayed out shutdown button and no print after reinitialize HD

    Grayed out shutdown button and no print after reinitialize HD

    On Toshiba E Studio 3500C, we replace the HD, re-partition, install firmware with the necessary 08-947 and 08-690. The machine recovers but we cannot print and when pressing Energy Save to get to shutdown screen, the Shutdown button is grayed out.
    Any solution, or something we are missing?

      Give old-new firmware versions.

          shutdown will not show until machine is in ready mode.
          As IVOVB asked, what was the firmware versions and where did you get them.
          And Star Trek was just a tv show...yeah right!
