At this point USB firmware will not help you. You need recovery jigs to be able to bring the machine back to life. Once a firmware update via USB fails, recovery jigs is the only way to bring it back to life and that is hoping that one of the boards isn't dead.

You could bring the machine out of firmware update mode but it will still code if you do. Save yourself the headache and buy some recovery jigs along with the firmware E-Proms.

I didnt realise this was still going on. That customer must be pulling their hair out by now.
It didn't say that I couldn't do it in the manual.

It should be better to get the jig without e-proms (PWA-DWNLD-350-JIG2) - it could update all of the firmwares. It is quite expensive. Same thing with the programmer.

Also I hope that the culprit might be one or more boards. If You find the wrong one after exchanging it firmware update with usb is still possible.

I'll never ask if I didn't check user manual, service manual, parts list, BSI/TNI/TAD... web, existing threads.

As the e520 was discontinued four model series ago, it sounds like the customer might have bought a used machine at a bargain price. If the owner of the e520 is not willing to pay for a factory authorized technician (who has invested money and time in his specialized trade) to maintain this copier, he got what he paid for.

all that talk but at the end your still begging for free firmware, what was the phrase - empty barrels makes the most noise.

well I guess in this case knowing the copy process does not get you the recovery jig or the firmware that is only available to the factory trained b.s. Think you owe emujo an apology.

Process is the same but all the parts, taking apart, software etc are different.

I know how the body works so..... (just pulling your leg)
