    e2500c MAG ROLLERS

Has anyone tried using the new style knurled mag rollers from the e2830c series devs on a 2500c series machine? We have a lot of problems with the mag rollers crapping out on us and wondered if this might be a solution. Tosh says they're different part numbers and are not compatible, but they seem to have identical dimensions. As long as the gap is set correctly I figure we'd be ok.
    Any feedback would be appreciated!
Why does every customer think they're the first one to ever say: "you've been here so much we should get you an office, ha, ha, ha"?

I have never tried it, but I would like to know how it goes. Maybe just try a black unit first? It may not be the dimensions it could be to do with the toner and developer?
It didn't say that I couldn't do it in the manual.

We've got a machine in shop I can use to test. Will let you know how it goes.

We have done a 4520 mag roller update on the 2500C developer units. Just set the doctor blade height to the specs for the 4520. It's not a "approved" mod, but works like a champ!

We have done this on a few machines that were pulling Dev in the 2500 series, they seem to work fine now.

Thanks for the feedback guys! I'll order in a few of the e4520c series rollers and give it a try.

                Re: e2500c MAG ROLLERS

Would also be interested to know how well this works as I've contemplated it myself.

Official word is that 2500c roller should be completely smooth and 4520c rollers should be rough due to both units using a different developer mix.

In the field where I've seen techs mistakingly rough up a 2500c roller it has resulted in premature wearing of the drum.
No, I will not send you Manuals, Software or your own little repair Genie to fix all your problems for you.
