[Misc] Toshiba E- Studio 3510c recived job, not printing

Need help troubleshooting a Toshiba 3510c.

All functions where working correctly (Print, Scan, Copy and Fax) Now, few days after the drivers where installed, the machine receives print jobs, indicated by the status light blinking, but doesn't print.

Right now it can copy, fax and scan with no obvious problems. Internal print lists do not print, print jobs do not print, and shutting down option stalls/hangs up and doesn't turn off, requiring to manually shut it off from the main switch.

My first guess is hard-drive related/firmware or memory.

    Greatly appreciate the guidance,

You probably have a job waiting in one of the queues holding up everything else (print related). Go to job status and lok at all the queues, release or delete anything listed. If all else fails, 08/690 should get you back up and printing, but be sur to back up your templates, and address books 1st. Emujo
If you don't see your question answered in the forum, please don't think it's OK to PM me for a personal reply...I do not give out firmware and/or manuals.

Try 08-1119 first for the NIC , it may work and you dont need to back up anything before you do it....cant hurt to try.

There is nothing under job status, no job pending. Only the LED status light blinking.
The code 08/690 formats the hard-drive. I'm going to initialize the NIC first, then format the hard drive, if those don't work then I'm going to replace the hard drive.

This customer has no template or information to be saved as it was just setup recently, if in future I need to backup, how do I that?

          Thanks emujo and excanonguy,

Next I formatted the hard drive and updated the firmware, this fixed the printing problem.

Now it seems to shutdown properly. One issue though, when sending PDF Documents to be printed its seems to bog down and only print 4 of 111 page pdfdoc, as if either the memory is not enough on the copier or the network cannot handle PDFs. The job can be seen in the copier, after it prints the first 4pages it "suspends" the print in the queue on the copier.

So how do I check the memory on the copier? What is the recommended amount for printing? I like to isolate if the problem is on the copier end or the network end.

            open pdf
            click print
on bottom of popup select advance button
            click print as image
            click ok
            click print

see if that makes a difference. May take an extra minute or two at computer but I have seen this fix alot of adobe pdf print issues.

Also did you replace the hdd or just format?
And Star Trek was just a tv show...yeah right!

Code 08-615 will give you infor on the main and page memory and if it is recognised. You can get extra memory for these models. Were PDF documents printing ok before the issue started?
It didn't say that I couldn't do it in the manual.

Re: Toshiba E- Studio 3510c recived job, not printing

Ok guys, I still need a hand here...

MR. Spock I Replaced it with a recently updated firmware on a known working hard drive.

Still, its going back to the original problem where No one can print anything, not even Windows test page.

So, I plugged in a USB cable, and tried printing, same exact problem, print job sent, copier receives and blinks on the print status light, but nothing in the queue in the copier, no printing, or anything. Still has a hard time shutting down...

                Checked the memory as you told me, thanks michaelc, (08/615) and it reads;
                Main 1024 mb
                PM 256 mb

Seems like memory is ok right? hard drive is fine, I isolated the network using the USB cable, so this points to? Main Board? Logic board? Print Board?

Is there a dongle needed for this series of Toshiba?

I have few of these machines at the shop to yank what I need .

Thie nic is on the system board on these machines.

08-693 will initialise the nic (you will lose the nic settings so you will need to save them)
It didn't say that I couldn't do it in the manual.

I did the 08-693 to no avail, now going to replace the system board.

I will let you guys know if it fixes it or I push out the 8 story window...

                      Hallelujah!

Despite the fact the copier recognizes the amount of memory, does not mean the memory is good, like a female saying one thing, but meaning the exact polar opposite (which never happens).

I replaced the Main Memory, and it started spitting out fax confirmations sheets that mysteriously where lost, All print jobs and internal reports respond as it should.

Thanks everyone for the quick and helpful advice/instructions. Unlike the significant amount of other threads on this site, I'm closing this problem with feedback for others for future use..
