    Jams on Toshiba copiers

    Hello everyone,
Is there a way to prevent jam copies from incrementing the total copies on Toshiba copiers? We have some Toshiba copiers on lease and we charge per copy. If the machine counts jams in the total counter then that is not fair on the customer.
I also want to know is there a way to monitor printer counter and copier counter in es166?
    Thanks

If the machine jams, it should not effect the total counter. The copy/print has to pass the exit sensor without jamming before it counts as a copy/print.
It didn't say that I couldn't do it in the manual.

That's how I know copiers behave from my experience with Xerox and Ricoh, but I'm surprised the es 45, es230, es205 that I have with me as I'm writing increments the total counter even when there is a jam. When the jam is during duplex it increment 2. I have never seen this before only in Toshiba copiers. I guess there should be a setting to disable counting jammed copies inthe total counter. Pls confirm on your Toshiba copiers esp themodels I mentioned. Thanks

Duplexing never crossed my mind. I would assume it would not count the copies but at most 1 if it did. I will check this when I get a chance but as far as I was aware it didnt effect the total counter when jammed.

The Toshiba's do not click until after the exit sensor. Jams are a fact of life on a copier. If your machine is jamming so much, you need to get to the root of the problem, and fix it. If it is a paper issue, inform the customer. If they are complaining about a jam here and there and expect the machine to never jam, you may have to hold their hand and explain to them that paper is sometimes gonna curl and jam due to outside influences, and just try to calm them down. As far as turning a counter off, no you cannot do that.

We are not trying to turn off counter. What we want is simply the copier should not click until the copy is delivered; jammed copies ought not to be counted in the total counters as in other copiers.
