    [Misc] Hard drives

Good morning all, once again I am charged with clearing the hard drive on a machine I have never seen before. This one is a Toshiba Estudio 3510C. Does anyone know if this machine has a hard drive and where it is located? I'm not looking for step by step directions on removal, just a general location.

    Thanks everyone

I'm a bit rusty with Toshiba but from what I remember remove the rear cover remove the metal sheild on the left hand side and you vill see the hard drive.

You can 'format' the hard drive in service mode all this does is clears the customers data.

      Turn machine off.

Hold down 0 and 8 and turn on the main power switch keep holding down 0 and 8 until you hear a bleep.

When machine displays ready type in 690 a button [2] appears on the screen press this and the start button, reboot machine should appear on the screen.

One thing to remember is if you remove the HDD you can't just put another one in and have the machine work. The firmware is stored on the HDD. You would need to reload the firmware if you replace the HDD.
Why does every customer think they're the first one to ever say: "you've been here so much we should get you an office, ha, ha, ha"?
