Hi guys. I have this strange problem with an estudio 120. When it came into service, the copy came out very light. So i changed the drum, there was a bit of improved copy quality, but still not quite as the original. So i followed these steps : cleaned the scanner unit, the LSU unit, drum unit and developer station contacts, tranfer unit (the one on the door that opens sideways), modified some settings(density, contrast) in simulations mode and the copy looked well. But today the customer calls and says that the initial problem has reapared : the copy is very light. Btw, this is the SECOND time i delivered the copier to this client and this thing happened. Where should i look? Btw, this copier has only 75k copies. I'm really stuck with this one. :|

Re: Toshiba estudio 120 annoying problem
May want to look at replacing the Developer Material.. It is rated at 25,000 images (@ 6% coverage).. If it has not ever been replaced, then it has made it 3 times longer than recommended..
Good Luck, -
Re: Toshiba estudio 120 annoying problem
The e120 is a long ago discontinued, relabelled, crappy Toshiba copier made by Sharp. I would not waste much time on this likely low volume account that your company is probably losing money on. The copier has a max rated life of 120k. Replace the copier with a low cost A4.Comment

Re: Toshiba estudio 120 annoying problem
Hi all. Thanks for the answers. My case is this : the e120 copier belongs to a small school wich also has a toshiba estudio 207. However, i also wished to replace the 120 copier with a newer model, but the school's budget can't afford it. So i must repair it. The thing is , i remember, that i put the drum unit from my defective 120 copier into another 120 copier and it worked perfectly. So yea, just a tech, you may be right. It can be from the developer. But this is what i can't explain : why does it work for 10, 20 copies and after then the copies become lighter and lighter ?Comment

Re: Toshiba estudio 120 annoying problem
The copier is a first generation piece of crap from Sharp. If the School cannot upgrade, they need to be happy with 10-20 good copies. This coper was never designed in a million years to be in a School environment.Comment
