the machine toshiba e studio 166 has a spanner flashing when you swithch on the machine, what could the problem and is there anyway to clear it?

hold down the c & 8 keys a code should appear in the top right corner of the display

As SS12 wrote "hold down the c & 8 keys a code" just give us the code number, or if you don't get any code by pressing those buttons,then is probably maintenance time period (usually 72000 or 74000 copies).
