    Add a network printer

I'm hoping somone can tell me about the drivers stored on the copier. If I go to "add printer" then "add a network printer" the PC will search the network for available printers. When the driver is loaded using this method it seems like it is using an older or more basic form of driver. When I try it at our office the e2500c we have loads an XPS driver. Is there a way to update that internal driver? And is there a way to make it choose a different driver language (PS3 vs. PCL6 vs. XPS)?

When we do installs we never use this method, but when our customers try to load drivers on their own we often run into problems because they use this method.
Why does every customer think they're the first one to ever say: "you've been here so much we should get you an office, ha, ha, ha"?

If you go into the web interface and login as the adminsitrator, you will be able to go to the Maintenance section and the drivers fall under the Install Software / Remove Software.

You will need to upgrade the firmware of the machine and then install the latest drivers on the device and I do believe from memory that this has to be done via the Client CD.

The only reason I say to upgrade the firmware is that later drivers for the machine usually require later firmware.

Your machine in the office is probably different because it came out of the factory with later firmware, hence later drivers.
Please don't ask me for firmware or service manuals as refusal often offends.

Thanks Owl. I'll experiment with the add software section in Top Access and see what happens.

At the customer's office, loading relies on whatever driver is on the windowsbox at the time; usually just something from the default setup. At your office, you likely have downloaded newer drivers onto the computer, either from the manufacturer's website, from a CD or from the machine webpage.

Best bet is to load a set of drivers onto a thumbdrive (from the manufacturer) and use that for each install you do.
