[Misc] Toshiba EStudio 3520C Scan setup

    Hi there,

We have an EStudio 3520C printer, and we setup that this machine is attached to the computer and will be shared in the network via Windows 7 net sharing. My question is if there is a possibility that we could scan from the 3520 and will go directly to the computer rather than using a USB that will attached to the machine everytime we scan. Our technical person suggested that it is better to have a dedicated network port than attaching it to a desktop computer.

I am no technical person in terms of machines, so any suggestions is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

I'll preferance with the 3510C was my last toshiba trained on, but if its similar to it you can scan either
      1 Email
2 SMB either to a network shared folder, or to the MFPs HDD and pull the scans from there (easiest, but least secure)
      3. FTP
      4. TWAIN scanning

All methods require a network install, 1/2 need 0 additional software, 3 needs FTP services running and 4 needs TWAIN software on the PC to run.

Tech should be able to discuss each one with you and decide which is the best soultion for you company. Emujo

Thanks guys for the quick respond.

I'd tried to plug in to the network port (assign static IP) and install the client e-studio file downloader start discovering and it works pretty well. So I guess e-studio is not prefered to have it attached to the computer, like the portable scanners.

        Thanks again.

3520c is a network capable machine, should connect to network and assigned a static IP.
Once networked, u can use below scanning method

          1. Scan to E-filing
          2. Scan to file
          3. Scan to email

These machinesarent like your typical dinky home equipment. They are designed for offices and stuff like that with the preferred connection type being over the network.

You can also scan to the copier itself and then rerieve the scans using a computer. To do this, use the following steps:

Go in to the network settings of the machine and make sure SMB is enabled.

On the copier, press Scan, Scan to File and select Local MFP.

After you have scanned the image, you can then access the scan by going to \\ipadressofthecopier\file_share
Please don't ask me for firmware or service manuals as refusal often offends.
