Toshiba es6530c Series Fuser/Fuser Drive Units. How are they going?

After having 3 BPs strip fuser drive units on the same day, causing clicking noises and C4E2 errors. I'm just wondering how other technicians or dealers are maintaining them. We only have about 15 in the field, all the eb3 versions.

The first few times we had just been fitting modified gears, the modified frame, sanding shafts etc. but had a pretty low success rate.
We then started fitting whole replacement fuser drive units which isnt all that bad but they are still only lasting 100k-300k copies.
All machines have the latest firmware, A while ago Toshiba recommended decreasing the fuser unit pressure which did help on some but most just started to jam when duplexing colour copies.
All the issues we have are with the fuser drive, no issues with the engaging/disengaging of the fuser pressure.
Within the last month we have fitted the ebX (es6550c Series) fuser drive units to 4 of our BPs are they any more reliable?

    Cheers.

    fuser

I just got back from the es6550 training in Chicago. The instructor said the ebx machines and their fuser/fuser drive are a non issue now. We were instructed to use their white grease in the fuser and fuser drives to fix the eb3 problems. But we have found that we have more problems with the grease "gumming" up the gear drive cause lock up codes. So we found using WD40 spray lubricant that you can buy at almost any store allows the fuser drive to rotate without as many issues. Its been working for us. Hope this helps.

The only fuser drive problem I've ran into on the newer 6550c series is the clutch in the fuser drive going bad. (the one that cams the pinch in and out). They have updated the part number and there is a bulletin about this.
