Morning hang up of E-Studio 281c.

My english is not perfect so ...

We have problem with almost new 281c (30k - 3 months).
Each day that machine works without any problems.
After hole night you press START button to warm machine up and then you try to do some copy or send an e-mail. Then 281c hangs up. All you can do is turn the power down. After restart it works ok.
No errors displays. Sometimes display "No memory" on the Panel but not always.
We already change HDD,RAMs,SYSBoard, IDE cable, Touch Panel, Power Source. I think about NVRAM Memory now.

sounds like a HDD problem. May need to format HDD or replace it and also update the firmware/software. If you do choose to format the HDD you will need to backup machine data via Top Access.

          1. check the firmware version. is it ver 320? ver 320 was introduced to resolve quite a number of field issues.

          2. is this unit connected to a network? try removing the network cable in the evening and see how the mfp response in the next morning? this way, we could isolate the fault if it is related to the hardware or network.

          3. had encountered one case where the mfp displayed "no memory". replacing the DIMM solve the problem. in your case, since you have replaced them, might as well as replace the NVRAM.

i'm not sure if these info will do much help.

It also introduced a new problem. The pm counters can not be reset. They released v321 on 2/28/08 to fix.
