    e-Studio352

    Hello,
I have been trying to install firmware to a new hdd for estudio352. The problem is the copier does not see the firmware on the usb flash drive.
After intialising in the 4-9 download mode, it comes up with an empty list like this:

    1:
    2:
    3:
    4:
    5:
    6:
    7:
So I cannot even select anything to upgrade.
I have prepared a new hdd like this for e-Studio282 successfully using the same usb flash. I seriously need help pls.

Thanks but I tested and it did the same thing on working estudio352. I also know that thee352 were bought from europe. We get our supplies and support from asia. But I was able to get a version300 firmware for europe from a friend and it still come out same.

Check the USB stick is formatted in FAT mode.Other than that possibly try a different USB stick.there is a test mode to see if the machine recognises the USB stick

The symptoms you list indicate the MFP can't see the files on the USB stick...this is usually caused by 1 or 2 things..the USB stick is too large..( 2 gigs or less recommended), you have the files on the stick loaded improperly..( Should be MENTSUB, and 352/452 folder with target files inside..nothing else on stick), some other hidden program is residing on USB stick (U3 ie, but you said the stick works in a different MFP so this is probably not the issue), you are trying to upgrade from a very low level to a current version...ensure you are following the PDF instructions for going up from a low version, or step up in increments..ver 100 to 200 to 300 to current. I think you can disregard the replace SYS bd/NVRAM comments at this point..although you might want to use the recovery jigs to get the MFP to a pretty recent version, then finish with current version..Emujo
If you don't see your question answered in the forum, please don't think it's OK to PM me for a personal reply...I do not give out firmware and/or manuals.

WOW!! I'd hate to see your parts budget if you replace system bds for an issue like this..I'm not saying it's not a possibilty, but again, WOW system board 1st!!!! Emujo

first did you do the clear 3 option 3
second since it works in another machine then it should work in this one. However if this machine had an older version then you may need to put all the files in the root of the thumb drive.
I have had this before. Other wise I agree with emujo on his post.
Third it is possible this thumb drive does not work on this unit. so try another.
And Star Trek was just a tv show...yeah right!

Thanks all, I finally got the copier running. I had to format the flash drive from dos environment b4 storing the firmware on it.
