    [Misc] Network Printing

    Hi to All,
I need to put a Toshiba E Studio 181 on network.
As there is no network port on this machine, I use a D-Link DPR 1061 to connect the USB cable & then cofigure the D-Link ip address to my workgroup.
The USB Port on the D-Link remain offline.
    Can someone help?

    Re: Network Printing

The built in USB port is only for direct GDI connection to a single PC via a USB cable. If the users want multiple PCs to be able to print to the copier then they must purchase a Network Print kit with a 10/100 NIC. This will give them PCL6 and PSL3 print drivers plus a faster RIP better able to process larger MB file sizes. Also, under the USB print scenario, if that single PC is turned off or not available, no one can print.

I have seen some techs try and share the GDI print capabilities but it never works well.

Also, Apple products are not GDI compatible.

You can not put a Network kit on that model. Maybe you can try with SEH print server. Toshiba officialy supports them and in some countries they sell them as "network option" for 181 model. IMHO forget it

For new models e-STUDIO18, 223,243, 195, 225 and 245 you can use D-LINK DPR-1020 Multifunction Print Server, and you can use network printing and scanning. It works w/o problems.
