    Toshiba e_studio 3155 O.S. Upgrades?

    Hi,
    we have an e-Studio 3155.
    Have Service Manuals.
    Have Operators manuals...
    ..
Need to upgrade O.S. to at least Win98SE or preferably WinXP.
    It currently has WIN95OSR2.
    ..
Is there any way to upgrade the O.S. on this machine?
    ..
If it involves Firmware then so be it..
    ..
My associate is "really, Really" attached to his e-Studio 3155. It Faxes, it copies, it eMails, it colates, it sorts, it staples, it punches holes - now he wants to know if it really will hand him the toilet paper...
    ..
    Seriously, all humor aside..
    ...
Now I just need to figure out if I can get the network to work (most of the computers are XP and a few are WIN7) since the WIN95 Toshiba Multi Function Copier will not network with the WIN XP machines (Much less the Win 7 machines).
    ..
So back to my original question: Can we upgrade to WIN XP (or at least Win 98SE)?
    ..
If so: How much will it cost (time is money, I realize that, so I know there are costs involved).
    ..
    Thanks
    Dave

Are you sure that is the correct model #, as BLI has no listing on that model

If you are talking about a GL-1010 print controller or similar, then Toshiba moved away from Windows and went for Linux.

Upgrading print controllers isn't as simple as whacking on the latest version of Windows and everything will work as there are special drivers and plugins for the Windows bases controller to communicate with the MFD correctly.

Your problem with this controller is that it is too old to support with all the new versions of Windows. Windows 8 is set to hit the market in November and you can almost garauntee that it won't support your old Toshiba.
Please don't ask me for firmware or service manuals as refusal often offends.

          boat anchor.

This will print on windows 7 but you need the latest firmware. also windows 8 support will only be if Microsoft wants it.
And Star Trek was just a tv show...yeah right!

"According" to Microsoft, Windows 7 drivers (of almost all natures) should work on Windows 8 as the base kernel is the same as Vista and 7.

Maybe they will, maybe they won't, but there is some info for you.

OK I get that - Win 7 is possible...
              ..
But ,my problem s that the plant where we have it located is in a Win XP environment.
              ...
Upgrading all the computers to Win 7 was an expensive and awkward headache that we decided against. Not to mention some of the machinery is of 1950's vintage with updated PLC controllers (circa 1980's) that simply will not talk to Win 7 (tried it - they just won't do it).
              ..
So we are looking to get this machine upgraded to Win XP.
              ..
Anyone able to provide a firmware update?
oh yea, we will also need Win XP drivers as well....
              ..
Just tell me how much it will cost.
              ..

Check this link for the drivers.

As to firmware.. It is too big to email (60-65 megs) but if you contact manuals4you he may have it for a small fee.

                  ..
                  How much?
                  ..
                  How much for shipping?

Contact this guy as he has a specific download site that can be used to gain the firmware for a small fee.

What level is the firmware at right now? The latest firmware is SYS 4006.
So check what level your firmware is at first. Then worry about updating it if you need to.
Your going to have to bite the bullet someday and get both a new copier and new computers. Refusing to remain in the stone age will only bring you more grief. Be a good tech and convince your manager to upgrade. Your not helping them by putting bandaids on your current situation. That 3511 is going to die and your going to HAVE to upgrade everything anyways.

Below is the list of supported operating systems on latest drivers. Windows 7 support is not listed. The generic HP driver may work.
                      Windows 2000, XP, 2003, Vista32 PCL5c Driver v1.22.13.0
                      Windows 2000, XP, 2003, Vista32 PCL6 Driver v1.22.13.0
                      Windows 2000, XP, 2003, Vista32 PS Driver v1.22.13.0
