    [Error Code] E-studio 45 Error code C01

Hi, I recently aquired an E-Studio 45 which is throwing up a service code C01, main motor abnormal.
Someone had mentioned that the usual cause of a fault such as this is a foreign object jamming the motor.
Can anyone confirm this or point me in the right direction.

    Thanks

I would recommend a service handbook at least for this old beast.

Main motor could be as simple as drum blade flipped stalling motor upto the main motor has gone bad. and at least 20 things in between.
Start simple. remove everything and see if the motor turns. then add one piece and verify operations. then when it stops look at the last thing you put in.
And Star Trek was just a tv show...yeah right!

Thanks to all that have replied so far! turns out there was a paper jam that was causing the motor to load up.
Problem one fixed, now the paper misfeeds 50% of the time, no matter where I feed the paper from.
The copier had been sitting in a shed, wrapped in plastic for the last 9 months before I brought it home, so I'm hoping the rollers just need a good clean.
I downloaded the service manuals last night, so I'll have a flick through tonight to see whats involved in removing and cleaning all the rollers...
Anything to watch out for or any handy hints would be most gratefully received.

          Again, thank you

Check the reg clutch. I believe (I do not have one left in the field) that it has an allen screw and it tends to back out and needs re-tightening.

              A couple things to check,

the fuser exit sensor will swell from heat, it is located on the jam access door on the fuser. Usually you can just trim off the sides with a knife

the feed rollers in the trays wear very quickly - 30-50k max

the main motor drives all the vertical paper feed if I remember correctly and with age the drag can cause C01 codes
