Jam not reaching the read sensor
Are the registration roller and read roller stained?
􀃈 YES 􀃆 Clean the rollers.
    NO
Is the read sensor working? (Perform the input check: 13-[04. SENSOR TEST])
    llllllll
    􀃈
NO 􀃆 1) Check if the connector of the read sensor are disconnected.
    2) Check if the connector CN75 on the ADF board is disconnected.
    3) Check if the connector pins are disconnected or the harnesses are
    open circuited.
    4) Check if the conductor pattern on the ADF board is short circuited or
    open circuited.
    5) Replace the read sensor.
    6) Replace the ADF board.
    YES
    Replace the ADF board.

This is from the service manual. My guess is that some sensor is not working or is jammed. And what do you mean by "dismounted"? You took the whole thing off or the adf was still attached to the copier? What exactly did you dismounted? Are you sure you removed all the paper pieces from the adf? Make sure you perform the sensor test. If you have any further questions, pm me. I'm from Romania too and work primarily with toshiba copiers.
