    Toshiba e-163 - jamming problem

Hi all. I have a really annoying problem with this machine. It jamms paper randomly. Meaning that sometimes the paper stops in the drum area and has an area of 1/4 covered with the image from the original. Some other times, the paper stops right after it exits the fuser but doesn't reach the exit rollers. Sometimes it barrely even reaches the registration roller. The paper doesn't seem to have any faults. I cleaned absolutely everything, starting from the feed rollers to the fuser. I even changed the clutch that drives the feed rollers. After i cleaned it all, my only guess is that the feed roller must be worn, although i have the same kind of machines and i changed the rollers at about 150k copies, even more. Maybe the feed rollers doesn't feed the paper correctly and in time to activate the other paper transport/transfer mechanisms. And another thing : when working from the adf, sometimes the image is shifted to the right. Maybe this too is from the feed rollers. I really don't know. Any advice would be really usefull here. Maybe some of you have experienced this issue.

Hello, maybe it's a problem with the high voltage circuit.
When there is a high voltage leakage, the machine stops his proces at random time.
Check the 2 springs on the transfer-unit that provides the high voltage.
If one of these is mounted wrong you get strange fall-outs of the machine
When the machine stops please press C-8 and check the code in the display (like C97).
    Good luck.

I know what you mean. But it's not C97. When C97 occurs, the wrench led is on. That fault may as well come from the main charger. Usually. But it's not that. The sign i get is jammed paper. And like i said, i cleaned the machine inside out. Including main charger and transfer/separation charger.

Hi Harry. Indeed, that was my problem. In fact, today i went to the customer and the jamming was still ocurring. I changed the registration clutch, made about 30 copies, from the adf and the glass, and the image didn't shift at all. Still, i'm wondering how the clutch gave up so soon. Btw, i have a question. If my original paper has writting on it till about 3,4 mm near the bottom margin, when i copy it shifts the image down and the last line of text (for example) doesn't appear on the copied paper.I tried the same thing with a estudio 207 and the same thing happened. Is it a mechanic problem or it can be solved by adjusting the scanner in 05 or 08 mode? Thanks

Does the Image shift when copied 'off the glass'? if so the cassette may require adj. If it's only from the ADF an 05 adj may be necessary.

Even from the glass. What is the correct adjustment for the casette? It has 3 screws on top of it with gradations. Is that what you mean?
