Hi there. I know this is a longshot, but did you get firmware for the e-Studio 2500c? I am also looking for it since my copier is only coming up with a picture on the control panel and nothing else. Thx.

Initially FW update will not fix this problem, you may have a hardware or more than likely a HDD issue, first try reseating/replacing RAM, Reseating PCBs including IMG - if no joy, try clearing the NVM Flags 3+Start power on (select 1 ONLY) then reboot - still no joy then try HDD Format - SRV MODE > 08-690 - if still no good then contact a toshiba Dealer (if you are not) as the rest gets tacky.

Thanks for info. I put the HDD into a PC and can read partitions and files on it, so I'm assuming the HDD's ok. I have taken RAM out and put back in. I have also taken out the 3 large PCBs at the back and the power supply, to see if anything changed. No joy. It's not accepting any codes during power up - I press 08 (and other codes) and turn power on and nothing accept picture on LCD comes up.

When you say "rest gets tacky" I am assuming you are talking about the special "Main Recovery PWA" that looks like a customized memory module for Toshiba copiers. It contains the firmware and can update the firmware from the special socket on the main PCB?

When I say 'tacky' I mean it gets involved, the Recovery Jig is an expensive item which does no more than updating the F/W through a USB Memory stick.
The HDD has A - Z partitions and can usually be seen on a PC however the Copier System reads these differently, the only real way out of this is to Partition the HDD using 3+Start > Power on > select 3 - but you will need the FW (about 100MB) and it must be for this model - I can't supply the FW but I will POST the instructions on how to if you wish.

I was under the impression, the jig was a more 'low level' programmer, in such that a USB would need part of the firmware still intact in order to read the USB stick. The jig can work from a completely corrupt firmware and directly links to the firmware memory chip via it's own dedicated interface connector on the pcb. Having said that, I could be wrong.

I don't think I've tried the 3 + Start option before to format the drive. Although I think no boot up key sequences are working for me, but I'll give that a go. I have an option to purchase firmware if it does accept '3+start' during power up.

I am also in the process of purchasing a second hand SYS board and PSU. The SYS board has the memory also, so that will eliminate a few more things.

Dave, just accept the FW - even if the HDD is stuffed, it may be replaced by any unit of 80GB+ - correct FW install will fix it - do NOT swap PCBs.

Ok, I only just had a chance to go to my office and try the Start+3 and power on option. All I get is the picture of the copier on the LCD screen. No noises as if no motors are turning. Although I can hear the HDD spinning up, and sounding fine. I have tried other options during power up also such as 0+3 (incase Start+3 was a mistake) and 0+8 etc.

I believe when it was working, by pressing 0+8 etc. during power up, one of the buttons lit up as if to let the user know it has sensed the buttons pressed. But nothing is lighting up now when it's powered up with any combination of buttons pressed. So if no combination of buttons pressed during power up does anything, I think the only way forward is to replace the SYS board which in effect will give me new uncorrupted firmware.
