    2500c Problem - CE40, CA00 - Blank copies, magenta saturation

    Hi there everyone!

I have a problem with my 2500c, it is mainly throwing a CE40 code, will refuse to print. Checked dev count high range is fine however low range is also as high! All around 650 mark.. The machine was literally working flawlessly then on duplexing started to do 1 page in every 10 in solid magenta (whole page) but with the background image still clearly visible for the photocopied print. Then only printed blank pages with a few toner marks on each.

08-576 check came up with 9, so clearly it is part of a K issue? All EPU drums are coated in toner, and yellow toner was present on every EPU drum!? Transfer belt looks quite clean. None of the charger wire is broken as u can hear the noise from the cleaner stick when pulled out. Could it be the K unit is not rotating stalling the transfer belt? Also makes a weird whirring noise, like something is stalled, or could just be toner over gears.. I did the test for the sensors one you can hear shutter the other you cant, whilst pressing 7 EGH were lit after the test procedure (CA00 test procedure).

I have spare EPU's which I was going to fully swap out, however could it be and image quality sensor? Where are these located? Could it be the laser? How do I find and clean the slit glass on it?

Sorry for all the questions but I have little experience with this model, have worked on a few copiers in the past however those were 281c's/3511's.

Any help and advice would be much appreciated, thank you!

You defintely want to check that all drums are turning. You can turn each drum manually to see if they are not stuck. Check all developer and make sure they are not depleted. Even though you clean the corona wire and hear it the end blocks can still be broken which is very common on these models. The end blocks hold the corona. The image quality sensor is on the right side of machine under or near belt. Usually that problem is not the laser but you can clean the laser with the green wand on the front door.Reset all of the values in the codes "Abnormality detection count (Y/M/C/K) Display/0 clearing
    (08-573 to 08-576)".
    Hope this helps....

The yellow epu was the problem, drum was seized.. As for the magenta problem (saturating the page) no longer occurs. Thanks Sagar4!
