    [Misc] Department Code/ Printing Issue

We have a customer that is having problems printing from internet explorer with department codes enabled. They print a lot from their company website, and when ever they send a job it goes into the invalid que. Each user has their own department code embedded in the print driver on their computers, if you disable department codes everything print out fine. Or if you use a different browser like Firefox or Google Chrome everything prints out fine also. Has anyone else seen this problem, if so is there a way around it that doesn't require putting Firefox or Chrome on 70+ PCs?

It doesn't seem to matter what model copier they are using either. They have:
    4 x es5540c
    6 x es3540c
    2 x es6550c
    6 x es355

What version of IE is your customer running?

What version of .Netframework are they running?

What about trying to print the same document from your laptop using IE?
Please don't ask me for firmware or service manuals as refusal often offends.

      IE version 9.0.8112.16421
      update version: 9.0.12

      .netframework v4.0.30319

Haven't tried printing it from my laptop. But I can try it tomorrow, i'll have to get their assistance because to get to what they are printing they will have to log in to their company website. I'll post the results from that tomorrow.

      Thanks for the reply.

Sorry, I forgot to ask, but what about just printing off a web page in general like the Google page from IE. Does that work making the issue specific to the documents and forms on their website?

Sorry, for taking so long to get back to you. Yes it will print the Google page from IE, it will also print some other webpages just fine. Not sure why it will prompt for a dept code for some webpages and not for others. I also tried it from my laptop, and it wouldn't prompt for the dept code using IE on my laptop either.

I have ran into this issue a few times on the 3540c models and it was driver related, I was using the current drivers from the toshiba.ca website v7.49.xxxx and had all kinds of problems with jobs going into the invalid queue when dept codes were enabled. I received drivers from Toshiba v5.10.106.2 and it fixed all the issues I was having. I'm not sure about the other models you mentioned but I would assume it is driver related as well.

The drivers that you are talking about v5.10.106.2 are they drivers for a previous model?

                V5.10.106.2 are from a e4520c series copier.

I believe the latest eBX PCL6 driver is called Universal Printer 2 V7.65.2477.1.

That's what I thought, but they aren't on FYI anymore.

Mr_Fixit do these drivers keep you from using any of the features or peripherals on the 3540c?

The Drivers I've been using are 5.10.106.2 and list the following models under the configuration tab: 6550c, 6540c, 5540c, 4540c, 3540c, 3040c, 2540c and 2040c and they are the full featured drivers that support all options. I had the problem back last fall and the drivers at that time from the toshiba.ca website (which just redirects you to the USA site anyways) had dept code issues so I can't say whether the newest drivers still have this issue but I do know that these drivers corrected the dept code problems I was having, and I've been using them ever since. Check your private messages I will put them up on dropbox for you, the .zip includes PCL6 and PS versions. I've only ever seen this on the eBX machines so not sure what to say about the es355 as I've never had this problem on an eBridge 3 machine.

So far so good with those drivers Mr_Fixit. They have been installed for a week now with no issues thus far. Thanks again for your help.
