Toshiba 352 - Band at trail edge of page

I am getting a band at the trailing edge of my prints.
It happens in either A4 or A4R orientation, and it will always be the trailing edge (right side of paper for A4, bottom for A4R).

The darkness and severity of the band changes. Sometimes the entire page can be slightly dark also.

Would anyone please be able to shed some light on this issue for me?

I have attached some photos to help illustrate the problem.

    Thanks,
    Sam

    Updating firmware can/may resolve this.

Check PM in List Print 9+Start > power on > 103, check Drum & Dev life etc. - looks to me like Dev Bias issue - vacout under Dev Unit, clean all contacts on the Unit & make sure Grounding Leaf Spring on Dev Unit contacts base, in the Drum Unit, replace the Grid & Charge Wire and clean the Housings.

Looks like your drum is causing your problem. Make a copy and then take a look at the drum afterward if it is still showing toner on the edge of the drum then its your drum with the cleaning blade. I have also seen the main charger assembly cause this same issue. Its possible its way past the PM mark and a lot of times it would cause the background on the edge. It starts at the edge and then eventually works its way along the whole drum unit. Also the waste toner can be back up in the cleaning assembly which in turn cause your problem. Hope this helps.

jonezy - Thanks, I will check the firmware and report the version.

canonbundy - Drum and blade just replaced, I will check on the Developer and everything you suggest.

sagar - I just replaced the drum and blade due to some damage on the drum. I put the old drum and blade back in after I noticed this issue, and I got the same problem - so I don't think it's the drum.

When you tired the new drum and blade did you vacuum out the auger assembly. Still sounds like its full of old toner and possibly backed up and has no where else to go but back on your drum. Just a thought.
              Or possibly old developer.

Have you checked the developer unit to make sure the dev spacer is ok and the dev brush height is correct. Also worth checking the erase lamps are working.
It didn't say that I couldn't do it in the manual.

Re: Toshiba 352 - Band at trail edge of page

Printing is now looking much better, no more band on the end.
I cleaned (by vacuum) the charger and grid as much as I could, and I also cleaned the grounding wire and bent it slightly to ensure good contact. I also gave the developer a bit of a shake up.

                  Now all seems well.

                  - I couldn't work out how to find firmware version.
                  - I never vacuum out the auger with the developer, as I always thought this would just waste it
                  - For some reason the developer count has been reset...must have been me....but it would have been over double its page count lift most likely - so I will change that soon.

Before I started cleaning everything, the pages were quite 'gritty', especially over the text, but also moderately over the page - is that a sign of the developer on its way out also?

Thanks again for all your tips.

check developer mag roller grounding plate if it touches mag roller shaft (front side)

Looks like your developer material is over-toned. Time to replace. With the 450 series going obsolete, hopefully these 452/453s will follow. Copy quality is crap compared to the new machines.

HELLO!!! ...... All the info has been supplied and obviously you are NOT a trained Tosh Tech. There are 2 ways ONLY to RESET the DEV Count - 1: 6+Start (PM Counter Reset) > Developer > 0.....DUMB!!! 2: 0+5 > 200 (Dev Init) - (without replacing NEW Developer) ....DUMB!!!
If Spot-on Copies/Prints are what you want, Replace the Dev, Drum, DCB, Charge Grid & Charge Wires, perform the above Dev Init (Developer Count will reset automatically), then reset the other Items with 6+Start.
Consumables can be obtained through KATUN if not from Toshiba.
