estudio 353 help with no power, but fans running ?

Before I dig way into this 353... I have not had one of these series machines with problem of no power but yet you can hear a couple of cooling fans running, what am I looking for here ? Is it really a power supply failure?

I cannot access 08 or any other codes...

And yes I have all the service manuals, thanks

    Appreciate any input, thankyou

Check all the voltages and fuses on the power supply. If any are blown trace the circuit and order a new power supply. If you replace the fuse it will only blow again.
And Star Trek was just a tv show...yeah right!

you maybe looknig at a shorted circuit, try turnning off the unit remove all connectors from the logic board except for the power supply turn on the unit there should be a display on the screen (if no display check power supply), then reconnect the connectors one at a time if the display turns off you have found your shorted circuit.

OK, so I've swapped power supply and no luck, still have a dead machine, only fans run.
I swapped HDD - no luck.
I swapped oper. panel - no luck.
I re-seated all board connections and tried powering on 1 at a time - no luck.

        Any other ideas ?

Sounds to me like a dead e-Bridge board.

You started off on the right track and replaced the power supply, so the next thing I would replace is the e-Bridge board.
Please don't ask me for firmware or service manuals as refusal often offends.

Yes, my thoughts too, but unfortunately my parts machine that I'm using to rob parts, the other boards are gone.
            Guess I'm out of luck...

As niorelle suggests, a pinched wire - in most instances we have found (in 350 & 352 mcs) a hasty installation of a Fax Unit can pinch & wear the coating off the Black wires behind the fax unit causing a short.
