e450 question on setting up print / print share

The IT guy at one of my lease customer's e450 has recently hooked mach. up to print, I'm not a network guy but he is asking me for the Default "User Name" & "Password" for "The Share" for Print ???

    All I know is the "123456" ...

He is trying to set up where they can log how much each dept. is printing, how can we go about doing this ?

    Thanks for any help guys

Re: e450 question on setting up print / print share

If you're talking about the SMB shared folder, there are no username/passwords associated with this. Anyone with intranet access to the MFP has access to this folder. The MFP scans to it, the user can retrieve documents from it, but (from how I read your question) you can't directly print documents from here. If you mean the SMB Shared "printer" queue, again, no password, just type \\IPADDRESS" and both the printer and the SMB share are there for the user to map to. If you are seeing a request for user names/passwords then the issue is on the network side, not the MFP. Additionally, the E450 needed dongles added to enable the print and scan functions. W/O these the MFP is only a copier. Emujo
If you don't see your question answered in the forum, please don't think it's OK to PM me for a personal reply...I do not give out firmware and/or manuals.
