Advise on Drum and developer change for estudio230

    Hi,

We need some help on a Toshiba e-studio230 machine. This machine was donated to us, a drop-in Center for school going children in Singapore. It isn't covered by a service agreement however. It has been serving us pretty well over the last 3 years until recently. A Toshiba technician rectify the error but told us it was time to replace the drum, developer, roller guides and heater rollers. He quoted us $780. As funds are pretty tight now due to a drop in donations. We are trying to save on every cent that we have.

We would like your opinion if it is advisable for us to do the change and replacement ourself? I have a little bit of technical training but not on electronics. I did previously change the roller before that was scratched by the roller guide pick-up.

If the change isn't too technically difficult, can please advise where we can buy the parts from and how do we go about to change it. Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you in advance.

    Hi,
if you don't know the machine, it may be difficult to only change a pickup roller

$780.00 seems to be alot for a drum, drum blade, developer, and heat roller. Google the parts and find them cheaper and then hire someone with Toshiba experience like me for $50.00 for the service.
