Toshiba 455 e020 fault only out of tray 1

replaced tray 1 paper feed assembly.
Any ideas?

it only codes out and jams e020 out of tray 1..

yes. Correct size and type. Size and type of paper doesnt
matter. But tray 2,3 And 4 don't have any issues. Why only tray 1. Elevator motor and paper tray seem to be fine. Is there a sensor that is only actuated by tray 1?

I very much doubt it, but I haven't checked.

I'm pretty sure the feed assemblies and cassettes are all interchangeable on this machine so ya could swap the feed unit to another tray and see if the fault follows.

I already swapped them. Didn't work. We're stumped.however. Tray 1 cassette is different so I am forced to try that. Though it seems fine.

Have you checked the reg sensors that are above tray one?Also change your reg clutch (in the back...behind the flywheel) if it hasn't been changed yet as they start to slip and cause problems.

The guide where the alignment and reg sensor sit can become worn and its hard to see. Had a similar problem with a customer doing a lot of A4-R through there. Give that guide and mylar at try

i just had this problem the other day it's the cassette it self change the cassetee out and your problem will be gone garantee toshiba say there was a bad bach of cassettes . ive had the same issue on both 355 and 455 ever scinece we changed the cassetes we havent bee back science it's vey strange but the fix works. try it beleave me you will be amazed you dont normally see things like this but thats your problem. Ive even put the trays side by side and you cant see any difference but once you change it it will not jam anymore just try it and them then hank me

Agree with Michael, check reg sensor actuators for paper cuts & mylars.
