    Used E Studio 2100C purchase??s

    Hi,
I just looked at a used E Studio 2100C that was listed on my local Craigs List.
It booted up and made decent copies from the glass.
The seller is the original owner and it was leased thru Toshiba with a service contract the whole time.
He hasn't used it in a few years and its been in storage.
He's only asking $350 with finisher, booklet maker and firey.
    My question is,
Are there any issues this model has that I should check out?
or any reason I should not purchase this copier?
    Thanks,
    DanaL

RUN like the wind and don't look back!

The 2100/3100 series of machines were the biggest pile of crap made. If you went to do a service on the machine, you could be guaranteed you'll be needing to replace your service vac filter afterwards because of how messy the machine is. I'm not talking about a few spits of dev/toner/papar dust here and there either. I've never had any of our machines (thankfully we don't have any more left in our area) run properly or not require parts are regular intervals.

But hey, don't let that persuade you, just do a basic search around on reviews on that model

In short, its a cheap deal with the finisher and rest, but in the long run, the machine will just cause you headaches.

When it was released it was ok i guess, but now atleast 10 years later I would be getting something else. Getting the parts and toner I would guess would be a headache
It didn't say that I couldn't do it in the manual.

            It already has issues...
The rubber fuser belt has self destructed as it slowly migrated sideways from left to right and peeled apart as it rubbed against the machine.
Anyone know how to correct this problem?
Is there uneven tension on the rollers??
            Thanks,
            Dana Lewis

              >ask about a known beater machine for sale on craigslist.

              >dont heed responses to run like the wind.

              >buy machine anyways only to find out there was a reason it was 350 dollars on craigslist.

              >come back to tech site asking what to do to fix said beater.

              Shakes head.
