    es453 to es456 ?

Have the 456 series turned out to be a better box than the 453 ?
I have alot of the 452/453's out that seem to run pretty good, I don't know if I want to replace them with 456's or choose something else.

I don't like them as much. They are cheaply made with a lot more parts that seem to break very easy. I also find they are prone to noises, lots of squeaks and groans as they age. Finally, I don't get the same life out of the PM parts. On the e453 series I would always get 150-200% life on parts like drums, UFR's and developer. On these machines everything seems to wear out at factory PM cycle or sooner. That's my two cents worth.
Why does every customer think they're the first one to ever say: "you've been here so much we should get you an office, ha, ha, ha"?

I wholeheartedly agree! It looks like they tried to combine features of the 453 and 283. Unfortunately the resulting 455 and now 456 are nowhere near as sturdy as the two previous models. I don't recall having to replace that many dev units before but with these new machines I am doing it quite a bit more (have 2 to do today).

The 453 model I found a lot better machine over all than the 455s (apart from the toner leakage on the 453). Toshiba have fixed a lot of problems they had on the 455 series and the new 456 series seem to be doing well. I have had no major problems yet but it is early days. On the other foot I had one 453 push nearly 3million before it was replaced.
It didn't say that I couldn't do it in the manual.

You cannot turn back the clock. The e456 is here to stay and it works reliably. The e453 is just too big and heavy and would be priced out of today's marketplace.
