    Toshiba Webinars, and Exams

    Hey all,

First of all let me say sorry for putting this in the technical section. Could not for the life of me figure out where it should go.

New to the world of Toshiba, leaving a Konica and Xerox dealer to go to to Toshiba. Doing some onboarding, pre-requisites online now. I can get some decent bonus cash for these, but I need to pass the exams on the first time. Easy right? Heh. I've taken a few product specific online exams. Nothing in the way of a study guide. I've had the Service Manuals, User Manuals, Service Handbooks all open as I take the test. What color is the connector for the main motor on a 163 series (example question)? Well let me look it up in the documentation. Hmmm, no color listed, but since i assume it's got juice going to it, we can probably assume it isn't black or yellow, as from my experience those tend to be ground colors. Sorry if I am coming off as whiney, just a bit frustrated is all. Anybody got any ideas on how to do well on these things?

    Thanks in advance!

It is beneficial sometimes to have a working machine of the model you testing on close to you for those questions about key sequences and parts locations and such. What I always do is log onto the course on my laptop and take the test on the desktop computer. A large number of the question can be found in the course but not necessarily in the manuals and with my laptop I will use the course outline to quickly go to where the answer might be found. I suppose everyone has their own method of taking these test, you just got to find what works for you. In the past I have seen techs take the tests and do screen shots of the test questions to give the next tech a preview of what to expect on the exam. Cheating? I guess that can be debatable, but like I say ... whatever works for you.

That is a pretty good idea. (The 2 pc idea). Thanks!

Toshiba request that you have a machine available to dissemble while using the web based training. So they almost always ask a question than can only be answered by looking at the machine.
