Toshiba e-Studieo 355 and Windows Server 2012 Compatibility issue

Hi Everyone,

I have setup a template for Toshiba MFP e-Studio 355

However, when I try to scan a document using my customised template it saves 3 copies of pdf files (0kb) on the Windows 2012 server.

I did research on internet and found out that the the MFP or the Server requires a firmware update. Because, the Toshiba scanner uses SMB2 and the Windows 2012 server uses SMB3 which causes the problem. Am I correct on this?

If yes, then please tell me from where can I get a new firmware? or is there any alternative way to fix this problem?

- Can we get it fix from the server end without updating the MFP firmware?

I've had to update firmware before to cure this for the same thing.
alternatives would be... scan to email, scan to ftp, scan to internal file share ( security could be an issue on the later )

if you get hold of firmware, you must beware, the SLG ( scanner board ) manufacturer was changed in 2011 & an e355 / 455 etc from july 2011 takes different firmware than from pre july 2011, the machine will install which ever you insert, but if it's the wrong one, you will toast the machine & need recovery jigs ( hardware boards ) to get the machine back to life.
