Firmware update failed replace GE-1170 board

Hello

I have a machine that just came up with this message. When I looked it up in the book it calls it an Image Acceleration Board. I have never seen this and did not run a firmware update. The book does not show where the board is or what it looks like. Does anyone have any information on this option? Once I find it can I just remove it?

I have pushed this machine to the side and have been researching it. The only info I can find is that it is an option that is available for the copier. There is no information on what it does or is used for. Does anyone know what this option is and what I can do to save this machine from the junk pile?
