es4540c fax not recognized

Hello

I have an es4540c that I tried to add a fax from another machine. After plugging it in the machine does not seem to see it. I have tried two different units both units worked. Is there a security setting or other setting that I may be missing. I have looked in the service manual and have not found anything. I appreciate any thoughts or answers.

Hi: If your using the correct fax option which is a GD1250NX then once you install it you have to initialize it.
Hold down the * and 1 keys while powering up. Key in 100 and press start key. this will initialize the fax option.
