So far so good. The previous version would slow down scanning in under 24 hours even if the feature was not used.

Have this SPAR on a test machine, now we have it on the office machine to continue testing it.

Thanks in advance, any advice will be appreciated!
    PS: sorry for bad english.
This firmware version does not have the slow scanning issue, not familiar with any address book issues. So far I have notices it does not include the option to "print on alternate paper" if the paper you selected is not loaded.

Being an older version it is not on the Xerox website. You can PM me and i'll find a way to share it with you. It must also be installed using a forced ALT-BOOT upgrade since you would be downgrading the software which can't be done from the web interface.

If you upgrade through centreware you will not lose anything, if you do altboot upgrade you will have to re-input settings, worth taking a clone file and export address book before you do any firmware, can save a lot of time and hassle.

There are some cases where an upgrade might cause problems depending on what level software you are upgrading from. In these cases the software will come with directions on how to avoid this and / or a pre or post upgrade patch. Make sure to read any installation files that may come with the new software.

In most cases before you upgrade you can create a CLONE file and export your Address book just to be safe. The clone file saves most of the user settings including network and scan settings.

Xerox machines that use Connect Key software are an exception. Clone files from one version of Connect Key will not work in another (v1.0, 071.... to v1.5, 072.... to v2.0, 073...)
Thanks for the reply, we were doing the ALT BOOT. Since the firmware downgrade the scan feature is now working great again. I have since noticed this issue at other clients who have had their machines on for weeks but don't use them to scan so never notice. I would just pop the USB in on a visit and try to scan a page first.

I have downgraded the firmware and so far the scanning does not seem to slow down at all. Still rebooting nightly for good measure.

Unfortunately the previous firmware does not have the "alternate paper" option to use when the desired media is not available. I have not tried the SPAR release.... yet.

I have ordered the part SBC fan 107K02810 and will hopefully get it soon

Looking at the service manual this fan seems to sit above the hard drive and extract air from the SBC/formatter. The fan description
SBC fan 107K02810 on purchase says fan and heatsink which surprised me bit, the fan at the top of the SBC does not have aheatsink.

Is this replacement fan really the one that sits on the SBC processor? This is the only heatsink with a fan I know of.

Are the fans usually dead when you replace them? I can feel some very hot air blowing out of one of the machines that has the issue.

As a side question have you ever tried to install a solid state drive in one of these machines?

as for full overwrite, generaly the standard option does the trick.
