    700 DCP Toner not fusing

I have a customer who has two 700's he purchased from me some time ago. He moved locations and now he's getting ghosting from the fuser not fusing the toner. I dont know what the voltage was at his old location but his new store measures 246v, this is above what is recommended (208-240v) by Xerox.

Common sense tells me this issue may be associated with voltage on the lower end (208v) but not the higher side. He is using after market toner and has been for years without any issues.

Was just curious if anyone has ever encountered something like this. And one last note we have tried replacing the fuser may times.

Thanks as always for any help or advise you have.

I experiencing this same issue due to toner. I had some xerox 5000 toner which is same style cartridge. I was incorrectly advised by an aftermarket distributor that toner power for the 5000 was the same as the 700 so i loaded the 5000 cyan toner with a 700 chip, changed the end caps and started printing.

The issue crept up on us and got worse and worse as 5000 toner concentration got higher in the developer. I later learned the 5000 machine uses fuser oil so it most likely uses a different toner formula.

Our solution was to purge the 5000 toner from the machine, this was our fastest and cheapest option. We pulled out the developer/drum tray and blocked the hole the cyan toner goes down. We then ran solid cyan prints until they became extremely faded, this means the toner in the developer is depleted. You can also look at the developer roller to see it's not cyan anymore. Unblock the hole and run mode solid cyan until they are solid again.

You may run into errors when doing this as the machine realized toner is not getting from the cartridge to the developer. Simply reset them as you get them and keep working.

Hope that works for you. If you have a developer/drum tray from another 700/242 style machine you can swap it in with OEM toners to see if the toner is actually the problem. We did this first to confirm it was the toner quality.
