Hi, new guy here. Novice tech geek, bought a used Xerox Pro232. I'm coming here from hanging out at the Xerox forums for awhile where I think I maxed out their abilities to be able to help.
Obviously its out of development and out of service. I bought the copier on an online auction site a couple of years ago from a community college. The copier works fine on my network, easily makes copies and prints just swell, and have been pretty happy with it.
However the whole point behind buying it was to scan hand drawn 11x17 artwork. And my problem boils down to accessing the CWIS, of which I have been very unlucky to be able to gain access to it to change settings relating to scan.
I have turn off firewalls, used straight through and crossover cables, windows xp, windows vista, windows 7 and 8.1 and come up with the same problem, no access to CWIS.
I can fill in much more detail about what I have done to troubleshoot , but I think I'm to a point where I'd like to reset the NVM but I'm not sure how that is done with this particular machine.
I have downloaded a PWS but I fear this will not work as I don't have a serial connection at this time, nor do I believe the one made available supports this particular machine.
I have scanned the machine with Nmap, mostly for curiosity, ports are open.
I am baffled why the CWIS can't come up on a browser.
I am close to abandoning this venture, and this is my hail mary to those out there that might wanna help out.
Thanks in advance.
