    5790 weird bypass issue

    Hey guys.

I'm on a 5790 that is jamming at the registration but only when feeding from the bypass. The initial sheet for the job jams every time but the job runs fine after clearing that initial sheet.
    I am getting fault code 08 - 186.

    I have:
    Replace the left hand door
    Upgraded firmware
    Replaced registration clutch
    Clean registration sensor
Reconnected every plug jack on the IOT and everywhere else I could find
Tested with short and long edge feed
Took the registration out thinking I misaligned it when replacing the registration clutch. No change.

Any ideas? I'm thinking either I need a new registration assembly or I need to replace the IOT.

    Thanks!

Try doing an IOT reset. Power off, move all the jumpers on the IOT pwb so they are jumped. Power on. Power off again and move the jumpers back.

Thanks. I'll give that a shot before swapping the IOT with new.

IOT reset helped but only for a few minutes. I ended up having to change the timing in nvms 08-152 to 280 and 08-148 to 246.
