Hi, can anyone tell me where is this DADF CVT Sensor is? I am havinga jam in the DADF with a code of 05-350. It says CVT sensor. Cant pinpoint where that is.
Open the top cover on the document feeder. After the feed rollers you will see a large roller covered with grey rubber that has a groove in the middle. That large roller is the CVT roller. There are 2 sensors inside that upper cover assembly you opened that have actuators that hang down and fit into that groove. The first one the paper touches is the Take Away sensor. The second one is the CVT sensor.
Take a look at the actuator for the CVT sensor. The actuators snap on to the sensor and are spring loaded so that once the paper passes by them, they sensor actuator pop back in place. If the actuator is popped off the sensor on one side or the other it can hang in the open position. That will trick the machine to think there is always a piece of paper stuck there. Another thing that can happen is that the grey rubber of the CVT roller can shift over time and block the groove where the sensor actuator rests. If this happens you can push it back in place by applying pressure in the correct direction as you rotate the roller. Just be careful not to tear the grey rubber tire.

Thank you for your reply. Yes, saw those 2 sensor, just dont know their names. ill have a check on the sensor and the CVT roller for anything like you mentioned. I'll post back after.
Went to check on the machine today. Had a check on the CVT sensor, actuator seems normal, it did not pop off or is stuck, the gray rubber on the CVT roller is in place. Cannot continue troubleshooting for now as the feeder is back again working. It was left alone for 2days, and when i get back on it, jamming is not there, it is working again with nothing done. Guess ill have to wait when it jam is back.
