[Error Code] Xerox 510 Wide format LL-71

    Hi guys,

I have been working on a Xerox 510 Wide format. Just replaced the LED assembly and cleaned out all the dev drop around the mag roller.

Has been operating great for about a week but today it started to display 'LL-71'. Looks like it is related to the fuser, any ideas where I might start? I know that the fuser rollers on these ones have to be lubed right up to stop it jamming.

    Cheers,

    Matt

Re: Xerox 510 Wide format LL-71

The LL-71 is likely not connected to the fuser roller. The LL-71 code can be triggered by several causes. A problem with either of the fuser rods can be checked by looking at continuity through each of the fuser rods. An open would be a bad fuser rod. The AC Module, which is the heart of the fuser control can also trigger this code. On older and high mileage systems, the blue connector in the fuser drawer area can also become a problem. Close visual inspection of the individual pins within the blue connector should be done. If any of the pins that are connected to thick wires are burnt or misshapen, replace both harnesses / connector assemblies.

Regarding the comment you made about lubricating the fuser roller, you are close to the mark in so far as the bearings in the fuser roller dry out. In some cases you can pop the race cover off and refill the bearings with grease. Otherwise, they will need to be replaced.

We carry all of the parts you might need to make this repair.

    Best of luck,

    Carl
