    Re: upgrade not complete

You have 2 ways to upgrade the software.

    1. Connect to the machine via Ethernet Cable. Access the machine's internal web page by typing the machine's IP Address into a browser on your laptop. You can log in with the default login "admin" and "1111" as the password. In properties make sure that software upgrades is turned on. Select manual upgrade and upload the software to the machine. Remember though that you can only upgrade to a newer version of software than is already loaded.
    2. Using a USB flash drive, create a folder named "upgrade" place the DLM file in the folder. Power off the copier. Plug in the USB drive and power on the copier. The machine will automatically enter software upgrade mode and install.

If you need to reload the same software level or downgrade to an older version, you will need to load it using the AltBoot method. To do an AltBoot, use a USB flash drive. Create a folder called "altboot" place the DLM file into the folder. Power off the copier. Plug in the USB drive and power on the copier. The AltBoot software upgrade will start automatically.

Finally if none of the above work you can try a Forced AltBoot. A forced altboot will overwrite all user data on the machine and set it to factory default settings. It will force all levels of software to be rewritten no matter of what level they were at.

To perform a Forced Altboot, set up the folder and the DLM file in the folder the same way as you do a regular AltBoot. In addition you need a file named "FORCED_UPGRADE". To create this file first make a new text file with no data in it. Next, delete the file extension TXT. Your computer will ask you if you are sure you want to delete the file extension, say yes. Rename the file "FORCED_UPGRADE" exactly as shown in all caps and underscore between the words. Place this file in the "altboot" folder along with the DLM file. Load the software as you would a regular altboot as stated above.
