Hi, I don't know if this post will save people some time, but I thought I'd document what I've been through with my docucolor 250 this past couple of weeks.
Two weeks ago my docucolor came up with an error 042-326. So, i removed the belt, cleaned the sensors, replaced the belt. No error, but the colour was badly out of registration.
Obtained the PWS software, connected the machine, ran the belt learn edge, used dc675 regi con setup cycle control to readjust, then ran dc671 regi con measurement cycle and it constantly failed. sometimes even running the dc675 regi con setup it would register all zeros, no values..
took off the tray 5, saw that it was printing the chevrons / arrows on the belt, and also dc673 mob sensor check worked okay. followed various threads on this and other forums and dismantled the mob assembly, removed the shutter, cleaned thoroughly, reassembled, nothing. all tests failed with lots of "NGS in dc671. reset the NVM, found the factory default settings in the hidden compartment in TRAY1 and manually reentered all the values. still, lots of NGS.
checked the numbers on the developer housing to make sure that they were correct - they were.
cleaned everything and inspected the IBT transfer module, cleaned out all the toner, even dismantled the 2nd BTR and cleaned out all the old toner - not sure why but i thought a good clean couldn't harm. still, nothing.
tested and cleaned the drums, and finally thought that oh, i wonder if the new corotron that i replaced about two months ago could be anything to do with the issue? i still had my old corotron unit, replaced it, and bingo, dc675 worked, dc671 worked fine too. registration works a treat! YIPPEEEEE. hurrahh.
whats not working now (and it used to), is that doing the procon in max setup - dc937 and the ADC minisetup for C M and Y fail.
also, the black isn't as black as it used to be - got plenty of toner, it just seems more pale in comparison to printouts that i had before this happened.
Many thanks to everyone on this forum who have kindly shared their experiences, I really hope that this post can save time and frustration for someone.
All the best,
Jason Godwin
