    700 Network issues

    Hello everyone!

I have a 700 that has lost the ability to communicate with the network. As simple a fix it may sound, it's a little complicated. When I go into CE mode the "Network Settings" tab isn't there. It's non existent, I tried a new ESS, ESS NVM, and VSEL. I have not replaced the MCU but it shouldnt have anything to do with the network config.

I have also reloaded SW and initialized the NVM.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you in advance.

You don't mention anything about the RIP?
Usually this is the RIP dead, either s/w, HDD or power supply.

The RIP (in this case an EX700) communicates with the 700. It will even gives you a Fiery start-up sheet. I should also be able to connect directly from the 700 to the network but It wont.

I've also had a similar problem with the Xerox 550. There are 2 IP addresses in the machine, 1 internal and 1 for the LAN. Someone had changed the internal IP and then couldn't work the machine as it couldn't talk to itself. The external IP is hidden deeper in the machine.
But if there is no NETWORK Config button it's usually the RIP at fault

I figured it out, my Tech miss diagnosed the problem??

Reloaded Software in the bustled Fiery, and set the IP to static.

            Thanks for the help everyone.
