    Re: Scan to network fail

I'm not very familiar with the xerox interface but its pretty similar to most networked multi-functionals.

    So gives this a go...
Head to users PC and select "manage" when right clicking on "this PC" icon.
Once in create a new user giving it a username and password you'd be able to remember and select that password never expires.

Head to C:/ drive and create a folder for the scans to drop in.
right click on the folder and select properties and navigate to folder sharing option.
Select the option to share that specific folder and allow the newly created user, full read/write permissions and submit.
Follow the same procedure under the security tab and submit.
Once you have the user created, the folder created and shared correctly then open up the web console of your xerox printer.

Navigate to the address book entry section and add edit the relevant fields under SMB.
Be sure to add all relevant info correctly as a simple spelling error wont allow the SMB drop to work.

The fields should be as follows:
    • host name (always best to use host/PC name instead of IP address as IP might be supplied via DHCP)
    • file path (location of folder you created)
    • username (name of user you created)
    • password (password for the user created)
    • if port number is not already supplied you can try using 445 or 196[if i'm not mistaken]
    • submit and give it a try...

Thanks, but i tried all that it refused. I dont know why.
      It continues giving error codes
      1. SMB error 027-518 login fail
      2.027-520 invalid bad volume
      3. 027-522 invalid volume
      What does it mean exactly

        Re: Scan to network fail

so it should resemble something like this
        xerox7328.jpg

Dont use single or double \\ at the start of the share name or document path.
share name is the the name of you main share as you would see when u open up your share locations.
Document path is all directories after the share name.
So if its shared in \\employees\daan\scans. share is employees, document path is daan\scans
Check if you can access \\employees\daan\scans from another pc in your network and read/write a file and folder.

not sure what kind of windows you are scanning too, but it will need a username and password, without password it wont work.
If youre scanning to windows server 2012, use port 445 instead of 139. xerox machines are known to use smbv2 while server 2012 uses smbv3, you can bypass this via 445.

If you need more help were gona need more info, screenshots

        Good luck
