wc5225 question about fax added on issue

This WC5225 has fax option but when I pressed features did not show it. I opened panel and 2 connectors were disconnected.
I connected them but still not appearing when features is pressed. I don't have a phone line at location. Does the line need to
be connected to machine before it will show that fax is an available feature? Primarily using this place for storage of equipment
and supplies. Frank

No you don't need the phone line plugged in to have the fax icon. The icon is probably turned off. There are 2 ways typically. 1st is to log in as the Admin and there should be an option to turn on services icons. The 2nd way would be through the web ui (if the machine is networked, open a browser and enter the machine's IP address to access the machine's web page, there should be an option to display or hide various services icons such as "fax" "server fax" "email" and so on.
