    Xerox WX7125 transfer belt problem

    Hello

Xerox mfp is leaving marks as showed on the attached picture. Gap between each marks is 7cm. They look the same. These marks I can see on the primary transfer belt. Can you advise solution for this please?
    Second question.
What should be performed after replacement transfer belt and how to do it please?

Re: Xerox WX7125 transfer belt problem

I can give you the step by step directions of how to do it but you must be very careful when removing the assembly. I would recommend that you remove the one in the machine and re install the same one back in the machine before you put the new one in. The reason for this procedure I am recommending is to see what clearance you have so you do not damage the belt or it can be expensive. You can actually rebuild these and put another belt onto the assembly and save a few hundred bucks. There is only 2 procedures afterwards to reset the High Frequency Service Items (HFSI Counter) and to run a Forced ADC Setup.

    1. Switch off the power
    2. Open the Left Hand Cover Unit. (like your are clearing a jam in the fuser)
    3. Open the Front Cover.
    4. Remove the Waste Bottle.
    5. Turn the Lock Lever and open the Drum Cover. (Recommend to remove all 4 drums during removal and install)
    6. Remove the Transfer Belt Unit.

Directly above the drums you will see an orange looking handle. Pull on that handle a little to slide out the belt assembly enough to see the handle strap. On the right hand side is another handle directly under the yellow toner bottle, on the Transfer Belt Cleaner. Grab those 2 handle and slide out. Removal Done

      Install.
Put the old one back in to see how much clearance you have. DO NOT FORCE OR PUSH HARD into the machine as it can catch on parts and tear the belt. The belt sits on rails on both sides. Now that you can see where the belt goes, install the new one and you are all set.

Reset HFSI Counter - go into tech mode on the machine. Select Adjustments/Others - Select HFSI Counter and reset chain 954-820 - Reset Current Value - Select Close and return to main menu - Log out with no reboot.

Forced ADC Setup up - Power Off the machine from the button on the control panel and open the front cover and switch the main power off. Count to 10 and turn the main switch on and LEAVE THE FRONT DOOR OPEN, turn on the power at the control panel with front door still open. Wait for the display to say Close Front Door, close the door and this will initiate the Forced ADC Setup

      Hope this helps

      Thanks JRTech.
Actually this is really strange as BW prints are clear. Marks appear only when color copying/printing is performed.

Does the Forced ADC Setup initialize adjusting etc. and no other action (like skew, color calibration) is needed?

Re: Xerox WX7125 transfer belt problem

The Forced ADC Setup is for calibration only. It will put a single color on belt and test for consistency of all 4 colors, thru the ADC sensors on the developers and belt. If you only have this issue on color, I would look at another part/section of the machine. If it doesnt happen on BW but on colors you have to single out the color components. The only difference between color and BW is the drum and laser, the belt and belt cleaner is used on all colors. So here is how to flush out the issue the easiest way.

Direct connect to the machine or go to a computer that is connected to it. This is assuming that the machine has had a very good cleaning and is using OEM Supplies. Toner and drum should be above 25% remaining. Found under Machine Status - Consumables. If you are using generic toners, drum then skip to the ladder part of Step 4
1-Open Microsoft Paint and fill an entire page of Cyan and print out 5 copies. Repeat for all 4 colors CYMK. Make sure you select the true color of Cyan, Magneta, Yellow and nothing different. Most color machine, up to production uses CYMK process. When printed look for any defects in the pages
2-Repeat above and during printing process, open the left side of machine to stop prior to fuser and check the image on the transfer belt and paper for defects.
3-Clean laser windows. Wand is located on the door, the window is under drum units.
4-Any issues in a certain color? Yes, remove drum and check for residual toner/developer on drum surface. If present clean/replace the drum unit. Clean all drum surface and repeat step 1.
-Issues in all colors? Yes, remove belt cleaner assy and inspect for overflowing, clean off the cleaning blade. Once clean and shiny, take some toner and lightly dust the cleaning blade.
        5-Repeat Step 1

At this point you should have the issue isolated.

        Hope this helps

Thanks for a great description. I will have a look at drum units.
Is it possible to print self test page of each CMY color separately? I have seen an option print test pattern (in service mode) but I do not know the pattern numbers for each colors.

Ok 59 is the test pattern I was looking for. All color pages have this defect so I removed Transfer Belt Unit and Transfer Belt Cleaner. I clean the transfer Belt Cleaner but problem persist only on color prints. Drums look fine.

If the transfer belt looks fine, all the drums look fine, only seen when making color copies, I would suspect one of the 1st BTR rollers for one of the color drums located inside the transfer unit.

This makes a sense for me. I think this is a good direction. I will try it.

Exok you were right. Problem solved.
What do you use to clean these metal rollers?
