And I find xerox 550 a can be expensive

You need to get that figured out first my friend! These machines will eat you alive unless you have access to both spare parts and service documentation..

I would only but them in sets of two so you can swap parts back and forth.

Other than that, the second poster made an excellent comparison for you.

Good machine! Ensure you do the HFSI maintenance.

x700 is first choice and 252 second

120K should be in good condition and fairly clean. I would ask for the HSFI and would want to look at it b4 purchase. But the best advice is from Jake..

Bottom line is, if you print a good amount of card stock and you want it fast go with the 700.. Feeding from the Bypass on 242 is very slow.
