[Error Code] Phaser 7500 does recognize new fuser

I'm working on a Xerox Phaser 7500. It has a new OEM fuser but fails to recognize it, still displays a message to replace the fuser. The previous time the fuser was replaced (it was also a new OEM one) the printer still indicated that the unit was past end of life but it continued to run for more than a year. Then it stopped running completely and even with the new fuser it will not run at all.
I tried using the script that forces a reset of the fuser life but this had no effect.
I'm guessing that this is a board failure.
Any ideas?

I fixed the problem by booting into diagnostics and scrolling down to NVRAM. From there I was able to reset the fuser life. It now correctly shows 100% life remaining.
