I recently bought a used xerox wc pro 416 and i tried to connect it as a parallel printer . I installed the correct win xp driver but it can't be recognised . after searcing the xerox support page it says the the product firmware version is not supported by the driver . how can it be apdated ? any suggestions ?

thank u for your answers in advance .

Try un-installing all other printer installed on your computer. Then go to Control Panel >> Printer and Faxes and Add a Printer manually on LPT1 port. I think this model of xerox needs no other printer drivers on your computer.

This is a rebadged Toshiba e16 and you need a print kit installed to use as a printer. I am not sure if the Xerox version came with this pre installed or not. It does require a manual load for the lpt1 port and does not like a usb to parallel adapter.
And Star Trek was just a tv show...yeah right!

the most convenient cause is that it may need a printing kit because i 've already tried all other solutions but i don't think that find one . if there is one how much should it cost ?
