Xerox J75 Press - fuser unit

    Hi Everyone

I have this machine that's been printing / copying for 2 days and then it displays a message that the fuser unit is not suitable for this media type. The message occurs every time I want to do a copy of A3, Coated media.

I believe the fuser unit must have been touched by the user and some how adjusted or did something to it.

I Checked the fuser unit and have observed that it has a gray adjustment screw but am not sure what it's for.

Is there any way I can adjust this fuser unit back to its normal operation?

    Thanks

\You may have a envelope fuser. If it has a part number on it cross reference it to a regular fuser.

If this is printer that uses alot of coated media and is comfortable with changing fusers I would recommend that you give them another fuser to swap out for the coated media (10k + per month) this will cut down on having to swap out fusers due to wear and tear on the normal fuser.
Run re order number thru google to see what it actually is. May have incorrect one or incorrect geographical region. Clean sensors and plug in rear of tray that fuser sits in. Warning do this with machine off.

      Hope this helps

I believe that you have a list on top of the fuser with numbers referring to paper types find the closes paper type of the paper type you have set for the paper you are using and match it to the list on top of the fuser unit the turn the grey nob to match that number.
Get your facts first, and then you can distort them as much as you please.

Make Sure you have the correct fuser or correct fuser width setting. J75 fusers have a rotary switch with values from 0 to about 8.
When it is set to 0, it supports all media types. So a Job becomes ineligible if the fuser has a setting that does not support
the paper width defined for the job. See the attached picture.

More than likely it was the rotary switch on the front of the unit.

ive never seen another other issues with these fusers than a user turning the knob by accident or out of being curious... other than reaching life or physical hardware damage/defects, of course
